Field Trip

Russell's class went to the Jackson dairy farm on a field trip. They had a blast. They got to watch the cows being milked, look in the big tank at the cold milk, feed the baby cows with big bottles, go on a hayride, climb on tractors and then cool off with ice cream sandwiches. Ed and Debbie Jackson did such a great job with the kids. I thought our group was large for them, but they said on Friday, they were having 160 China Spring kindergarteners. Wow!

Holy Udders!

Russell propping the bottle up to feed the babies.

The kids loved feeding the babies. We have baby cows, but ours aren't near as cute as these, I guess it's the different colors that make them so cute!

Russell posing by the tractor. I let him wear his cowboy boots with shorts for the field trip. He got a lot of compliments. This is his cowboy stance, with his legs crossed and the leaning pose. ha! Not sure where he learned it, but he usually has his cowboy hat on too and he tips it forward on his head when he does this and says "this is how a cowboy sleeps".

He had to stand in the tire to pose too.

Russell and Katylu
(He had to have this picture printed and a piece of tape and I went in his room and it was hanging up on the wall, his new girlfriend he said.)

Had to have a pic in the red tractor since red is his favorite color and daddy already has a green tractor so he didn't care about that one.

Russell's class in front of the dairy truck.

*We didn't get to see it, but they have a 5 legged cow, with the 5th leg growing out of its back. Oh my!

Cooking Fun

The kids love to "help" me cook, especially if it's going to include sugar and them getting to lick a spoon afterwards. ha! So I bought them a kids cookbook from Southern Living with all kinds of neat kid's recipes. They each chose one and off we went. We made "Princess Wands" for Sydney, "Smores Sundaes" for Russell, and then homemade heart shaped pizzas. The had a blast cooking it all but I guess were worn out from all the cooking cause they didn't eat much of any of it except the Smores Sundaes were eaten rather quickly and so I don't have a picture of those.

Block party

Every year, the church where Russell and Sydney go to preschool at, has a block party. This was our first year to go and the kids had a blast. Their favorites were the pony rides and the petting zoo. The petting zoo was wonderful and included a little pony, brahma calf, baby pigs, bunny rabbits, and baby goats and their moms. They even had a lemur that you could pet if you chose too. It looked a little creepy so we chose not too. ha! Thanks Gram for going with us.

I think Russell was trying to figure out what that ugly thing was. lol

Sydney & Russell rode on the mechanical bull. I was surprised either of them wanted to. My camera decided to quit working when Russell got up there. ugh.

Sydney and Sparky the fire dog. Russell didn't want to pose with the rather large dog.

My latest.....

This is my latest project I just finished for a friend. It turned out so cute I had to share! The set includes the diaper clutch, 2 burp cloths and 2 bibs. The set is $40 The diaper clutch is for the "on the go" mom, when you don't want to drag around a huge diaper bag when you need to run a quick errand. It holds a travel size wipes case and I have 2 size 5 diapers in it so it would hold probably 3-4 smaller ones. The clutch by itself is $25.

Sydney singing

Sydney loves to sing! She memorizes songs all of the time and just sings at the top of her lungs. Well funny story, last night, she was dancing on our bed and singing "I've got joy like a river" over and over but here were her lyrics:

I've got peace and joy in the liver
I've got peace and joy in the liver....ha!

She now knows it's river. Thought I'd share that cause I thought it was funny!

First Day of Preschool

The kids started preschool today and thankfully no tears. They were tired cause we were up late the night before so the pics weren't great. They had a good day and took good naps when we got home.

Back to Dance

Sydney posing before her first dance class for this year. She looks so grown up in these pictures!

Our little dancer

Sydney is quite the little dancer. We went to Papaw and Dooda's (George and Donna) ranch yesterday and the entire time Sydney just wanted to listen to the radio and dance with Dooda on the trailer. Dooda was a great sport about it and even wore her bikini on top of her clothes cause Sydney wanted her to. ha! She only has the bottoms on in this pic cause Sydney insisted she take the top off.

Red Ryder BB Gun

Russell loves his Red Ryder BB gun. He got it when he was a week old from Papaw for Christmas. He now loves dove hunting with it since this is the first year we've let him shoot it. He was aiming for a buzzard yesterday and he said he accidentally shot a butterfly and Sydney was not happy with him for shooting a butterfly.
